2020 Arnold Amateur
Open Bikini Championships
(Columbus, Ohio - March 5-7, 2020)
One of the most prestigious IFBB Pro Qualifiers in the world is the Arnold Amateur.
As part of the Arnold Sports Festival, it attracts visitors from all over the world. In a last minute move to err on the side of
caution regarding health threats and public safety (ie. coronavirus), it was decided to not allow the general public audience into any of the amateur events.
The trade show/expo had been cancelled as well. So that's how this reporter's first Arnold Classic experience played out. With the size of
these divisions/classes, thought we'd just dedicate an entire report page to just the one Bikini Open category. We covered the amateur
events for Muscle Insider Magazine and there is much content there including individual photos. The links to those galleries are below. This page
is more meant to encapsulate the competition with all the key results presented in a simple way!

To the actual competition...Gabrielle Messias personified elegance onstage, beautiful lines and muscle shape. The other Pro card winner was the Northwest's Nam Wasbrekke,
always a dominant force at National Qualifiers such as the Emerald Cup, only a matter of time till she got through to the next level! Eight classes in all, the Overall
Comparison Round was very impressive! There were some tough battles within classes as well, one this reporter followed was in Bikini 'B' Class where Pricilla Aqilla, who
we'd seen at the Amateur Olympia in 2019 was up against Terence Amurao who we'd met a couple weeks earlier at the NPC Legends Classic. Both brought their 'A' game to the
stage. So many names of note who did great here...Canadians Noralee Castillo and Jodii Fox placing 3rd in their respective classes for one thing.
