2022 NPC Battle For The Eagle Wellness Overall Champion - Shelby Smith (Canyonville, OR - October 8, 2022) Our coverage of competitions extends beyond the stage, whether here or on social media, and the 2022 Battle For The Eagle was no different. As a reporter, it's our job to get a sense of who's going to particularly stand out. We could not help but notice Shelby on that Wellness stage. Our travels took us to Boise the following week and a very timely gym shoot. Thanks to The Mecca Gym for the location. "My name is Shelby Scevers, a Wellness competitor in the NPC. I am a mother of two and a cosmetologist. I have been competing in NPC bodybuilding shows since 2016. I first started in the Bikini Division under my trainer Karrie Lynn. I competed in two shows with her before I took a break for almost 2 years. In 2018 decided it was time to get back on stage and sign up with @bigjonfitness Big Jon Fitness. Shortly after I had decided to make the switch to Wellness at the start of 2020. I have been over the moon with the switch now having 2 overall wins under my belt @npcaouthernidahoshowdown and @npcbfe2021 since making the switch. My main motivation for competing is showing my two kiddos that a single mom with a full time job can also make fitness a priority and that anything is possible if they just follow their dreams and do the things they love. I also want to give a shout out to a few special people. First is my boyfriend, @jeremy_hopkins87 who has been my biggest cheerleader and support. Between making my meals, watching my kids so I can lift or just someone I can lean on when it gets a little hard. I couldn’t do it without him! Second my prep coach @bigjonfitness for seeing my potential and helping me reach new heights in a sport I never thought possible. @kennywallach for improving my posing and @kittys_bikinis for making the most beautiful suit I have ever worn.
