2022 NPC Big Sky
Bodybuilding, Physique, Fitness, Figure, Wellness & Bikini Championships
(Missoula, Montana - May 7, 2022)
Jessica Wahl - 1st Place Overall - Open Bikini
Our last visit for this event was back in 2018, one of three typically back to back for Ribic Productions...this was the first time we've done ALL three in the same season! A smaller show with some Montana competitors and still significant involvement from Washington State and Idaho. Bikini culminated the show with outstanding 'Team Mecca' competitor Jessica Wahl tweaking things from Emerald Cup to dominate this category...Open Class 'C' and Overall. National level shows should be next on her plate. What's also great about this show are the improvements/feedback evident in others from recent shows... Emily Chase in 'A', Sarra Arras in 'B' and Christy Grorud and Kat Engen in 'A'. Then there are those who newly caught our attention from both a physique and stage presence perspective such as Jennifer Hauch, Daylen Bruns and Kaitlin Barlocker (Bikini AND Wellness). Lisa Solomon did well in Masters, taking three busy classes.
Janae Johnson - 1st Place Overall Figure
On to Figure where we had a very pleasant surprise in terms of a True Novice competitor who's poised to do extremely well in the sport. Janae Johnson has the proportionality and structure tailor made for this division and displayed the confidence of a champion onstage. We'll have more from her as she continues in the sport no doubt...had planned to do a post show quick shoot, but our location (last minute) kinda fizzled out...but she's only gonna get better! Also of note in Figure was Alex Smietanka with nice lines and stage presence. At this level there's also still some cross-overs to different divisions, for example Sarra Arras to Bikini and Anastasia Datsopoulos and Brier Greaves to WPD. Speaking of which, a good look for that for Brier winning WPD Masters 35+. Open was won by Michelle Leichner. In Women's Bodybuilding, Dana Richards graced the stage with an excellent routine and great size as usual.
Ariana Le Bel - 1st Place Overall - Wellness
Wellness had smaller classes but a good representation of the specific look from Overall winner Ariana Le Bel. Thanks again to promoters Ivan and Erin Ribic and their crew for all their efforts making this such a stellar event!
