2013 CBBF National
Fitness, Figure, Bikini & Physique Championships
(New Westminster, B.C. - August 17, 2013)
The second year in a row for this show in beautiful British Columbia saw the largest turnout ever for a CBBF Nationals event.
Getting right to results, Ontario's Emily Zelinka took the open figure title, a crowd favorite and very deserving. Fitness competitor
Dominique Matthews literally was flying across the stage, the total package, she'll make a great Pro! Open bikini had great class
winners but only 2 of the 4 could turn Pro, Belinda Kiriakou had impeccable lines and Breanne Hensman bested a stellar 'B' Class
to emerge as the other Pro.

Women's Physique was included at this event for the first time, three classes and two Pro cards awarded. Nova Scotia's
Leah Johnson took the Overall and Lise Thexton the other card, winning a very strong short class featuring Alberta's
Carmen Tocheniuk taking second place. And back to
bikini, a great story in Kelowna's Valerie Cantin Boyd taking the overall Masters title...she was in my opinion overlooked at
her very first competition in the open class, I thought she definitely had 'Pro' potential.

Thanks to promoters Ross Webb and Sandra Wickham, as well as the CBBF for making this event
an absolute pleasure to cover. Looking forward to next year in Edmonton, Alberta!
