2015 CBBF National
Fitness, Figure, Bikini & Physique Championships
(Halifax, NS - July 18, 2015)
Another Canadian Nationals is in the books, you'd think
this way off hamlet in Atlantic Canada would be a tougher 'sell' for athletes to
attend! On the contrary...a record over 480 entries and possibly the best
quality field ever vying for a very few IFBB Pro Cards. The photos speak
for themselves so will just mention a few highlights and surprises. Seemingly
coming out of nowhere, BC's Tanya Chartrand wowed the judges with perfect
symmetry and good muscle size to take the Masters Figure Overall Title and
a Pro card in only her first Nationals. I know better in that she's one
very driven person and no surprise here!

Bikini never dissapoints, with Alberta's Lindsay Pinsonneault's curvy lines
and solid muscle taking the open overall title in what was undoubtably the
toughest class of the show, featuring elegant Diana Todd from BC, a couple
of recent provincial champs in Nicole Rogers (Alberta) and Harpreet Pindher
(BC) plus many others. Of course when you have classes this big (29) you're
going to get top contenders from year's past potentially overlooked. The
judges have an extremely difficult task!

Fitness had a total of 9 competitors split into 2 classes. Veteran Kelly Teubert's
athletic routine earned her best routine and the Overall title! Alberta's
Amanda Genth took second in the Tall Class, great stylistic routine and a
beautifully proportioned physique...she'll be back! Women's Physique saw
former bodybuilder Tamara Qureshi tailor her look for physique...can't argue
with the muscle size and shape developed over the years. One of the most
anticipated entries in this division, meteorically rising through the ranks of the Ontario
Physique Association qualifiers was charismatic Eleonora Dobrinina.

'Ella' is a bourgeouning social media star and is destined for much much more
as an IFBB Pro...yes, she was awarded the second Pro Card in the category,
she needs to be unleashed on international competitions! Lastly, thanks so
much to the Nova Scotia Amateur Bodybuilding Association who promoted the show,
the CBBF and in particualar newly elected chairperson Georgina Dunnington.
