2023 NPC Cascadian Classic Bikini Championships (Redmond, OR - May 27, 2023) Continuing with our Northwest coverage, the second stop on this road trip took us to Redmond, Oregon for the NPC Cascadian Classic, a long time staple of the Memorial Day Weekend. New venue for this event, kudos to Dominic Current and his team for an extremely well run show! Starting with Bikini, large classes throughout, Open/Masters Overall was taken by Laura Lee Musson, athletic, proportional and very indicative of the look at the top of the sport. Laura Lee competed in the region in recent years, but shows we sadly weren't able to attend...always excelling. We definitely made up for lost time with a quick photoshoot the following morning at the host sponsoring gym Redmond Athletic Club, huge thanks for accomodating us! Strong Open Class winners, 'B' Class winner Alyse Heun dominated her huge True Novice Class, while 'D' Class winner Maegen Matecki took both her Novice AND True Novice classes. Kelsey Pickle showed great improvement, taking Open 'C' Class. So many honorable mentions for athletes we hope will continue in the sport. Of note was Meagen Masten (below) who competed earlier this year at Emerald Cup. She placed 2nd to Laura Lee in both their Masters and Open Classes, a split decision in both cases from the judges, a bright future for sure in the sport!
