Open Bikini 'B' Class Champion - Calysta Upperman
One of the top Bikini competitors to come out of the Northwest in 2017 is Oregon's Calysta Upperman. Having taken the Overall Title at the Vancouver USA Naturals (3rd row of photos), she set her sights on the premier Northwest event, The Emerald Cup. In a strong field which included Big Sky Championships Overall winner Lacey Dauenhauer (#117), Calysta had to bring an even tighter package to the stage this time, and she did just that! In an unofficial ranking of 2017 National show contenders, she is at the top of the list for the first 4 months in her height class. Good things in store for sure! Calysta does a majority of her training between 2 gyms, March Wellness at OHSU and Cem Fitness. She is a member of Team Hexx. A Portland, OR based team founded by IFBB pro and 2016/17 Olympian Lauren Irick who had also been her coach since fall 2015. When she is not in the gym training, Calysta works as a registered nurse at OHSU in day surgery. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, Andrew, and their 3 dogs as well as hiking, cooking, reading and traveling.
