2017 NPC Empire Classic
Bodybuilding, Physique, Fitness, Figure & Bikini Championships

It's been several years since we've covered a show in Spokane, Washington, whether it was because of the timing of one of Ribic Productions shows (Night of Champions
being the other) or the longer than average drive. Exciting to be back, the Convention Center downtown being a great venue, not to mention all the
talent onstage! Starting with Figure, RAB Fitness athlete Ciara Perez has slowly but surely improved her look, a very lean look. Shapely Tanya Palacios
also made an impression, nice stage presence too. Mackena Sherman stood out in Open Class 'C' (2nd place)...terrific proportionality to fine tune.

Bikini saw 6 Open Classes compete and a lot of crossovers with Masters and even True Novice doing very well. Very distinct looks were the order of the
day for those ultimately going for the open overall title. The judges' scores for that comparison round showed they were split as well with 3 of the
finalists getting at least one 'first place vote'. Christine Sim's balanced and perhaps not super lean look had the most consensus, but it was close.
Of note was 'C' class winner, Canadian Kendall Kershaw who is working towards BCABBA Provincials (overall winner of the 2016 Iron Ore Classic).

Notables onstage also included stunning Carlie Paquin and the ageless
Darris Griffith, no doubt many from this show will end up at Emerald Cup the following weekend (at the time of this writing).
A number of husband and wife teams both competed at this show. Exotic looking Huyen Winzler placed 6th in a very tough
Bikini Open 'A' Class, while husband Ryan took Overall Men's Physique!
