Renee Williams - NPC Bikini Competitor
It's not often one 'discovers' someone as tailor made for this sport as
Renee Williams. At the 'ripe old age' of 17 she took to the stage like a duck to water. Confidence
seemingly beyond her years, but with VERY good reason! The first few comparisons are from Novice 'A' Class
and the last 2 are from Open 'A' Class. Overall comparisons are linked from the intro page. In her own words...
"I have dreamt about competing
in bodybuilding competitions since I was eight years old. When I was little, I remember going with my father while he went to work out in a small bodybuilding gym. Hearing bodybuilders talking about competing in shows always left me in awe! Throughout my middle
and high school career, body building was the reason behind the sports I chose. I did cross country, track, and wrestling to help build muscles that would set me apart from other competitors. The summer before my junior year of high school, I decided I was
ready to compete. I reached out to my father’s friend, who is a strong man named Ryan Rhodes. Ryan pointed me to Melissa Fillmore, who has been an amazing coach. The next step was to find a way to pay for my dream. So, I got a job. I work 20-27 hours a week
while going to school and maintaining a 3.7 GPA. Finding time to work out at Beneath the Bar each day was a struggle but is something I always look forward to. I decided to jump in and compete just 10 weeks before my first show. With the daily support of
my father and mother, I took 2nd
place in the true novice division A at the Idaho Cup. I was proud but not satisfied with 2nd
place so I continued to work out in the off season. At the Empire classic , I took 2nd
place in novice A, 1st
in open A, and 4th
overall. I have taken the judges critiques and will spend my time until I compete in
Boise in June
to build an overall worthy package. After that show, I will be taking an off season to prepare my body for the national stage in
Vegas. My new goal is to try to get my pro card by the age of 18 so that I can work to earn points to compete at the Olympia. I want to
become Miss Bikini Olympia and maintain that title for as long as I can. Body building has been an amazing experience that shows me every day that if I shoot for the stars, I will reach the moon.
