2015 Inaugural Leigh Brandt Muscle Classic
Bodybuilding, Physique, Fitness, Figure & Bikini Championships
(New Westminster, B.C. - Mar. 14, 2015)
No strangers to presenting great events, Xtreme Promotions co-promoters Dean and Leigh Brandt produced another
sellout, with over 200 competitors to start off the BCABBA competitive season. Bikini as always
featured large classes, overall winner Laura Merkel looked super prepared and polished onstage.
Many novice competitors plus a few 'returns to the stage' of note such as Marlo Williams
and Renee Cooper who was joined by her twin sister Reani Sharp onstage side by side! New notables
included Montana Jade Lee, Gopi Tarkhar and Dana Maternick...and those weren't even the class
winners, who were all outstanding. Personality isn't
necessarily THE deciding factor, but a couple of competitors really shone in that department and did quite
well such as 'A' class winner Rashelle Gauthier,

'E' class winner Teela Chapdelaine and Masters 'A'class winner Bianca Beaupre.
In Figure, stunning Natalie Coutu has a crazy proportional look to her as she progresses in the sport, a clear
favorite at this event taking short class and overall. Nice top 3 in the tall class, had the pleasure of
photographing class winner Kelly Bentley and 3rd Placer Shelbi Watton leading up to the event. Shelbi's
trained by Dawn Thornton, whose husband Robert took the overall Men's Bodybuilding title here! I can see
how this team knows their stuff when it comes to training and transforming bodies.

As mentioned, Robert Thornton took the heavyweight and overall bodybuilding title, seemed like he was on a mission here! Good size
gains on Light Heavyweight winner Burhan Pourmokhtari, nice posing routine as usual. Not too many Women's Physique
competitors, Elyssa Starchuk took the class and best 'poser' award. Men's physique featured extremely
competitive classes, Jeffrey De Jesus emerged out of a very tough 'A' class to take overall.
