2015 BCABBA Victoria Cup
Bodybuilding, Physique, Figure & Bikini Championships
(Victoria, B.C. - August 15, 2015)
It's been a very long time since a BCABBA show has been held on Vancouver Island,
so it was with great anticipation that a new tradition was started. Co-promoters
Corey Swiergosz and Jennifer Randall took that initiative and 80+ athletes graced
the stage of the historic McPherson Playhouse! Bringing shows to new locations
definitely inspire locals to get into the sport. Starting with bikini, a true
definition of novice, with almost exclusively first time competitors rather than
those needing to requalify for Provincials. Very competitive classes in open and
masters, with Jeannene Rudyk taking the Overall Open title. Several competitors
including Jeannene looked like they could excel in the fitness modeling field,
the other two class winners (Deepika and Sophia), as well as top placers Alison
Phillips, Maxine Somov and Maria McDonnell...not just looks but spiced up their
stage presentation with personality and attitude!

Two open classes in Figure, expect to hear more from class winners Yvonne Champion and
Leah Ewonchuk as they go on to the next level. Also Kristen Mulligan who won Masters
and took third in Open 'B'. And not to forget Overall Masters (and Grandmaster) champ
Kim Koroll, always a pleasure to see her hit the stage...a favorite over the years!
She'll be handling emcee duties at the upcoming Knight of Champions show on September
5 in Surrey, B.C. Visit the BCABBA.org site for details.

Some big guys wowing the crowd in men's bodybuilding, Antonio Scott looked really
dialed in and took the Overall title over some very tough competition. Not a lot
of competitors but the quality was there. Men's Physique had a good number of
competitors as expeceted, a worthy champ in Ryan Tang. And last but not least,
ever improving Rosemarie Amann was the sole representative in Women's Bodybuilding
and in Women's Physique, Cindy Legare winning over Crystal Edge...Cindy continues
to do what she loves! It was an honor to be Official Photographer for this inaugural event.
I'll have more as time permits, complete results are/will be posted
at the BCABBA website.
