2015 IFBB League Vancouver Pro Show
Fitness, Figure, Bikini, Men's Bodybuilding & Physique Championships
(Vancouver, B.C. - July 25-26, 2015)
Talk about hitting a home run on your first at bat...well actually second.
Promoters Michelle and Ullie Krack got their feet wet with the Krack Klassic in 2014.
Little did we know back then that they would bring an IFBB Pro Show to Vancouver,
the first since the '70s I'm told. The inaugural Vancouver Pro Show & Expo qualified
champions in 7 categories for the Olympia stage. The backdrop of this beautiful city's
harbour and scenery was perfect to welcome over 70 athletes from around the world! The
show also featured a packed convention floor expo full of exhibitors and special guests
including Dana Lynn Bailey and Randy Couture. A BCABBA amateur show was also held in
conjunction as well.

Getting right to the results, the Men's Open Bodybuilding category saw Canadian
champ Fouad Abiad dominate the stage, a definite audience favorite! In the 212
category, super symmetrical Shaun Clarida took the title. Men's Physique had a
strong Canadian presence with Ontario's Eren Legend qualifying for the 'O', second
placer AJ Shukoori also from Ontario and the hometown favorite Mirko Maras taking
third. Brand new Pro Erik Bywater who acheived that status a week ealier at Nationals
placed fourth.

It's always a pleasure to watch IFBB Fitness Pros perform their 'magic', even more
special with the Northwest's Tanji Johnson gracing the stage. This was her 10th
IFBB Pro win, a great milestone! Mesmerizing performances from Whitney Jones (2nd Place),
Brittany Kanne (4th) with her juggling, Caitlin Bailie as 'Wonder Woman' and her patented
hand walking skills...I could go on and on. Sherry Boudreau claims to be retiring
from competition after this show, we'll see! A real treat following her journey
over the years. Rounding out the Top 5 competitors were Nigeria's Chika Aluka in 3rd
and Quebec's Dominique Matthews in 5th.
|
Turning to Figure, a truly international group of competitors, with stunning Candice John
representing Trinidad, presenting flawless symmetry and lines, perfect posing...the side view said it all.
It'll be a return to the Olympia for her! Second placer, Brazil's Janaina Ferreira stood out with her blonde
hair, a great look with sweeping quads, etc. New York's Swann Delarosa showed great abs and an
overall polished look to take 3rd. Florida's Jennifer Brown took 4th with a leaner look...sported
the most 'muscle' of the top 5, great conditioning! Rounding out the Top 5 was last year's
Canadian champ Azaria Glaim, she'll move up the ranks for sure. Western Canadian favorites Erin Harding,
Leah Berti and Tanya Chartrand filled the next 3 spots.

On to bikini, so many great candidates who would look right at home on the Olympia stage.
Ukraine's 'sassy' Alla Semenova posed to perfection, small waist and balanced look.
Oregon's Francesca Lauren took second...great strides in the past few years, one of
this photographer's favorite models of all time! Russians Sofia Tandilian and Llana Moroz
took the next 2 spots while the extremely popular Leigh Brandt (Canada's first IFBB Bikini
Pro btw) "worked her butt off" to hone in on this show to take a well deserved 5th Place!
Some great local stories with Anette DeLaRosa and Eboney Chipman taking 7th and 8th
respectively. Both got their Pro Cards in their first 'run' through the rankings, bright
futures in the fitness industry!

Last but definitely not least was the Women's Physique Division. 100% on point
was the only way to describe Nova Scotia's Leah Johnson. Beautifully detailed
muscularity and great stage presentation! One of my absolute favorites in the
sport (loved her Fitness Routines), Jodi Boam brought that flair and showmanship
to the Physique stage, super dialed in for the show...can't say enough good
things about her performances. Third placer Kristina Dybdahl-Farnsworth had
impressive muscle size, followed by the exotic looking Korean, Yeonwoo Ji in
fourth. Rounding up the top 5 was recently crowned Canadian Nationals champ
Tamara Qureshi. Was graeat to see both Athena Siginakis and Jeni Briscoe
representing the Province of BC. I remember both of them starting out in the
sport a loooong time ago.

Thanks to the athletes, promoters, fans, judges, volunteers, exhibitors and
everyone else who contributed to what was truly a game changing show on the
West Coast! An absolute honor to be Official Photographer for the event for
both the IFBB and BCABBA shows (as was this photographer at the Krack Klassic),
grateful for the enthusiastic response from
competitors and supporters of the sport, hopefully the
start of a great thing! Official results of the Pro show can be found at
