2018 IFBB Vancouver Pro Qualifier
Bodybuilding, Fitness, Physique, Figure, & Bikini
(Coquitlam, BC - July 7, 2018)
With a new era dawning worldwide in the quest for that IFBB Pro League Card, Canadian promoter Michelle Krack is on the forefront of that movement.
Having hosted/promoted the IFBB Vancouver Pro Show since 2015, the show was situated perfectly to be combined with an IFBB Pro Qualifier event. These
have been taking place around the world this year, where athletes can compete internationally for their Pro Card. In this case, the Overall winners
in 8 Open categories attained that status. In Canada, regional CPA shows (Canadian Physique Alliance) qualify athletes to this show. As this is
its first year, placings at previous National/Provincial shows which led to the IFBB Pro League at the time were also taken into consideration.
US athletes must belong to the NPC and international athletes need no affiliation to compete here.

Starting with Bikini, blondes dominated the Overall showdown with Jamie Baldo, American Hope Harper and eventual winner Maxine Somov being centered for the
most part. Hope (as of this writing) will be gunning for that title at USA's in late July! Maxine made her Pro debut the following day, placing 6th in a
field that included Ashley Kaltwasser and Jennifer Dorie...very impressive! Among the other class winners was Korean Bokyoung An, expect to
see her do well internationally.

Some of the very best in Men's Bodybuilding both in Canada and from elsewhere rocked that stage. Dustin Cosman, Simon Ducharme, Yannick Song and eventual winner Brandon
Regier were definite crowd favorites. Of note internationally were Seongmin Chae (Korea) and Tonia Burton (USA) taking 2nd and 3rd in Light Heavyweights. Local
favorite Stephen Didoshak was runner-up in Heavyweights.

NOBODY was going to beat Rachel Killam on this day in Figure! The culmination of years of hard work and determination, this reporter recalls her very
first shows and all the ups and downs of her competitive career. Well deserved! Of note were triumphant returns to the stage of class winners Gabrielle Tongol
and Micheline Mengue, both in VERY tough classes. Look out in the future for Anastasiya Ruiz competing at US Nationals in particular. Imane El Aziz rounded
out the class winners, very elegant look onstage. Class B which Micheline won, was particularly strong with Mandy Urner and Alicia Bell taking the 2nd and
3rd spots.

BC's Richy Chan had a particularly successful day winning both a Men's Physique and Men's Classic Physique class title. Kyle Faustino took the Men's
Physique overall crown. Men's Classic Physique overall winner Isaac Baier decided to make his IFBB Pro League debut the following day with an impressive
debut, placing 5th in a field of 11! In Women's Physique, NPC Emerald Cup Champion Claudia Diaz blew away her look at that show to dominate here.
|
Two categories had one open class each to decide their Pro Card winner, Wan Ling Law in Women's Bodybuilding and Terra Plum in Fitness. Of note in
Bodybuilding was runner-up Amy Young, beautiful routine as usual and a tight look.
Thanks to the promoters/organizers of this show, in particular Michelle Krack of course. A pleasure to have been associated with her team as an
official photographer since the inception of this event. We can be contacted for stage photos at david@twixpix.com
