2018 NPC Washington State
Bodybuilding, Physique, Fitness, Figure & Bikini Championships
(Auburn, WA - August 4, 2018)
The second year back in its original home, promoter Jeremy Williams pulled out all the stops to make this show a memorable one...from guest posers and
inspirational awards to an expo filled with a wide variety of vendors. A packed house at finals was a great sign and the evergrowing number of
competitors bodes well for this show's continued success! On to the details, starting with the coveted Mr. Washington title. That went to Super
Heavyweight Cody Plumb besting the field but with strong challenges from Haskell Connonier and super shredded Masters Champ Jim Everton. Add to
the mix veteran competitor and trainer Jacques Pitcher (who also competed in Mixed Pairs with wife Kris) making for a very robust event!

Turning to Bikini, conditioning was the key to Open Bikini overall and 'D' class champion Shawna Buettner's win. Together with husband Jon and based out of Idaho, they're one
of the top training teams in the region. Being spread out over five open classes made for some sparser than normal sized groups, but the Overall showdown
did yield a good cast. It was a very successful day for 'E' class winner Haley Rogers, taking both the Novice and True Novice overall titles, nice
proportionality and stage presence. Down to the short end, 'A' class winner Kathleen Mills had a great combination of muscle, shape and a comfortable
photogenic look onstage, look out for her in the future! In the Masters class it was close between two very conditioned athletes in eventual winner Kris Pitcher and
Open 'D' class champ Tina Cole, both brought their A game to the stage.

The surging popularity of Classic Physique drew from crossovers in both Men's Physique and Bodybuilding, but in the end a "specialist" in the look
Garrett Firestone, took the Overall title. VERY honorable mention to Darrin Dedmon (and his distinguished beard) on this day, competing well in both this division and Masters/Open
Men's Physique. It's been a busy month or so for Darrin as he competed in both the Tanji Johnson Classic and the IFBB Vancouver Pro Qualifier up
against some tough international competition!

Figure saw a variety of looks, including crossovers from both Bikini and Women's Physique but in the end, nicely conditioned Mackenzie Miller took
the Open 'A' class and Overall titles. She's just getting started in the sport so expect great things from her down the road, super potential to go far. Kudos to
coach Dan Simpson too. Of note was Masters Overall champion Tanya Palacios who also took Open Class 'B'. Made for a great showdown with Mackenzie for
that Open Overall Award. Speaking of Women's Physique (and Women's Bodybuilding), there were no Overalls contested but a very SOLID group up there,
Patti Hanson taking top spots in WPD while Amy Neelands won Bodybuilding and placed 2nd to Patti in WPD.

Last but definitely not least (it closed out the show) was Men's Physique. Of note was of course Overall Champion Jabe Johnson
and also a dominating performance in both his Open and True Novice classes, Jarrel Betton, taking Overall in the latter.
Thanks again to promoter and friend Jeremy Williams, always a pleasure to cover his shows!
