2002 NPC USA - Lightweights Melanie Thompson - 1st Place Melanie was 7th at last year's Nationals and slowly but surely is moving up the ranks. A very balanced physique with size and shape rare in lightweights where often, too much dieting down to make weight is evident. Was great to have photographed her on location - has a camera friendly and aesthetic look that I know will get her noticed at the Nationals in Dallas. This North Carolinan (2001 State Champion) was a real pleasant surprise. Still up in the air whether I'll cover Nationals this year, should be a terrific class! (click thumbnail to enlarge)
