2018 NPC Northern Classic - Figure Overall Champion Olivia Ottinger
As a National Qualifier, shows like the NPC Northern Classic sometimes spotlight that one competitor who truly is a step away from a legit shot at doing very well at the next level. One such athlete who stood out right away was Olivia Ottinger. Olivia was a soccer player growing up, but ended up having 3 knee surgery’s before she was 20 which took her off the field and got her into the gym. She started out competing in powerlifting, and has multiple USAPL state records in Idaho. Then last fall Olivia made the switch to bodybuilding in the Figure Division. She competed in the 2017 Night of Champions and Idaho Cup where she won both her open classes, (the Overall winner at NOC was Katie Nyland who is now an IFBB Pro and Jennifer Lowrey won the Idaho Cup...she was a strong contender at the recently held Amateur Olympia). From there, her coach and Olivia decided to try to make a run for Nationals. "The Northern Classic was my first show of the 2018 season, I’m going on to compete in the Idaho Cup and then Miami Nationals. I am so thankful for the help and support of my coach and team at Big Jon Fitness, they have given me so many opportunities and really helped me grow as an athlete. I also need to give a huge thank you to my boyfriend Colton, I don’t think I would be able to compete at this level without him, his patience and support are a big part of my success." We've included some photos from a short, windy shoot before finals plus Overall comparisons.
