2022 NPC Tanji Johnson Classic
Figure Championships - Katie Sexauer
(Olympia, WA - June 12, 2022)
Our coverage of competitions extends beyond the stage, whether here or on social media, and the 2022 Tanji Johnson Classic was no different. As a reporter,
it's our job to get a sense of who's going to particularly stand out. We could not help but notice Katie's prep and the competitive level she's attained. With
that in mind, seemed like a perfect fit to put a feature on her together. In her own words, "My name is Katie Sexauer, and I am a 34 year old personal trainer from Moses Lake WA, where I live with my husband Ryan and our two children on our 5 acre homestead/farm. I raise beef, goats, pigs and chickens and am proud that we raise a lot of the meat we consume, ourselves.

Fitness has always been a passion of mine, but life got busy & pregnancies and kids took front row. I had not worked out in years when, in 2016, (my second child was a little over a year old) I decided I wanted to reclaim my body and build strength and muscle again. One year later, April of 2017, I competed in my first bodybuilding show and from that moment on I’ve been completely hooked on this sport.
I competed in 2017, 2018, and hit Jr Nationals in Chicago 2019 where I placed 5th in my class.
I prepped for 8 weeks for the same show in 2020, but then it was cancelled and I, like many others, had to put competing on the back burner.

2020-2021 my husband and I built our own house (we acted as our own contractor and did 90% of the build ourselves) and now that we are moved in, it’s been go time! I am back in the saddle, and full steam ahead. USA’s is next for me, end of July in Vegas."
A big thanks again to
West Coast Fitness Lacey for the shoot location! There's a few photos from our pre-show shoot, some highlights from the event
and Round 2 of gym photography the following morning.
