2022 NPC Tanji Johnson Classic Bodybuilding, Physique, Fitness, Figure & Bikini Championships (Olympia, WA - June 12, 2022) A new venue for this event, but back in the State Capitol of Olympia. A well run event, and while not as large a turnout as some shows, definitely competitors of note to keep an eye out for in the future. The Women's categories are featured here. Starting with Bikini, well prepped and confident posing onstage sealed the deal for Bailey Harrison, well deserving of the Open Overall title. Other Class winners were Cynthia Perez (who won the Masters 40+ and True Novice classes), Sam Ivy (who won a tough Class 'D') and Tiffanie Froese (good showing in all her classes). Of note was Masters 35+ winner Kelsie Woodhouse, a good first show of the season to prep for the next level! Look out for Arianna Carter as well. Nice posing and also placed 1st in Wellness. Figure was of particular noteworthiness as 'ready for National level' Katie Sexauer wowed the audience with her chiseled physique and proportionality...future Pro in the making. We timed things right to photograph her both before and after the show at West Coast Fitness Lacey, a big thanks for the gym location! The other class winner was long time member of the fitness community in the region, Jyl Stoltenberg bringing her strong phyique back to the stage! Also of note was Alaskan competitor in both Figure and Bikini (Hero class in the former), Katherine Mendoza with a nice structure for the sport and seeing where she best fits in. Lastly, of importance was the first annual commemorative Hero award in honor of fitness community member and first responder Lexi Harris, who a year ago lost her life while assisting at an accident scene.
