2018 IFBB Pro League Vancouver Pro Show
Fitness, Figure, Bikini, Men's Bodybuilding & Physique Championships
(Coquitlam, B.C. - July 7, 2018)
The fourth year for this ever growing and popular event, the beautiful Hard Rock Casino Vancouver was the new venue. The IFBB event was
held on the second day of the Vancouver Pro/Am & Expo, the first day being an internationally eligible IFBB Pro League Qualifier show,
the ONLY way to the Olympia stage! Promoter Michelle Krack and her team did an extraordinary job pulling off an unprecedented and
daunting task. Let's talk about Bikini first. The show saw the return of Ashley Kaltwasser to the stage and looks like she didn't miss
a beat. Got a good challenge from Canadian Jennifer Dorie which included just the two of them in a comparison round. Tiffany Servatius
placed third. The next three were all very recent Pros, Jessie Pineault having won her card at the Toronto Pro Qualifier, Annette
Mountford at the 2017 Weider Cup and the newest Pro of all, stunning Maxine Somov who had won overall bikini at the Vancouver Pro
Qualifier the day before, well technically it was past midnight when that show ended so basically the same day! Sixth place in a field
of 16 competitors!

Open Bodybuilding was a real treat again for muscle afficianados, the top spot going to
Lukas Osladil and his "magical" glutes.

Fitness also included a comeback as impeccable Allison Ethier showed why she's been at the top for so many years in the past. Super polished routine
and great rapport with the audience. Returning from last year's Vancouver Pro were Sara Kovach (placed 2nd this time) plus a very much improved
physique for last year's champion Emma Paveley (third place this year).

Figure had the biggest sized class with 21 competitors, amazing proportionality on both 1st placer Bojana Vasiljevic and
runner up Michele Pinto, a split decision there.

Men's Physique went to a very enthusiastic Ismael Dominguez from Mexico.

Turning to Women's Physique, Canadian content took the lead here, a great top 5!
Local favorite Alyssa Coppolino in only her second Pro show placed first! She brings such a
streamlined look to the sport and that swayed the judges. Considering the next two placers were
the phenomenal Eleonora Dobrinina and "veteran" Jodi Boam, that's quite an achievement. Fourth
went to Georgina D'Abreo while the USA (and Norway's) Vanessa Nasheim placed 5th.

I'll repeat what we said last year, if you don't want super freaky (in a good way), the 212 Men's Bodybuilding Division is for you. Mahmoud
Al Durrah I think has found his niche within the Pro League...beautiful posing as always. Olympia bound!

Classic Men's Physique is definitely gaining popularity. Khaled Chikhaoui took first
while first time pro Pieter Van der Linde (a definite crowd favorite) placed 2nd.
Of note also was Isaac Baier, placing 5th after winning his Pro Card the night before!
Thanks to the athletes, promoters, fans, judges, volunteers, exhibitors and
everyone else who contributed to what was truly a memorable show on the
West Coast! An absolute honor to be Official Photographer for the IFBB event once
